NEURON itinerary for the SFN 2006 meeting

Post by ted »

Given the limitations of the itinerary planner for the 2006 meeting of the Society for
Neuroscience, it was far more difficult than usual to identify any papers of interest, let alone
papers that reported work done with NEURON. Fortunately, the Linux version of the
itinerary planner contained a big SQLite file. SQLite is one of the things you get for free
when you install just about any modern Linux distribution. This meant we could bypass
SFN's own limited software, and do our own custom searches--like finding all
occurrences of the word NEURON, for example.

By the start of the meeting, the list of NEURON-related presentations had grown to ~45
(about 36 dug out of the itinerary planner's database, and the remainder discovered by
email tips from authors). Wandering about the meeting and scrutinizing posters closely
turned up another dozen by the end of the meeting, for a total of 57. The list can be
viewed at ... 6itin.html
or you can download any of the files in that directory
(they all have the same contents) for examination off-line. Errors in titles, names,
presentation numbers, or presentation times are straight from SFN's itinerary planner
software, which was used to generate a csv file that was reformatted to produce this

Please let me know if you are aware of any slide presentation or poster that should be
added to the list.
