Hello
I am looking for documentation on the swc morphology format.
I want to be reminded of what each of the columns in a given file represents.
thank you,

Re: SWC file content
This discussion thread has been moved from "NEURON + Python", where it clearly didn't belong, to "Anatomically detailed models"

Re: SWC file content
Suggest searching PubMed for
swc file format
If that doesn't help, search the Internet for the same phrase.
If that doesn't help, try Google Scholar.

Re: SWC file content
AFAIK the original developers of the SWC file format never published a formal definition of it, and nobody else has either. Others have written up brief summaries of what they were able to figure out and some have anonymously posted their summaries on the Internet--but who knows how long any of those will remain available? This doesn't seem like the way to do science. Maybe there's something about SWC format at NeuroMorpho.org.

That's an informative page. Be sure to save a copy, print to a pdf, and record watever you might need to cite it in the future.
