writing in NMODL

Hi!
If I want to write code in NMODL where do I write it? Do I use the Neuron shell that appears when I open Neuron? or do I use cygwin?

Write a plain text file with the editor of your choice. Hint: Word is not the
best choice. I'm partial to NoteTab Light, which is free and quite powerful.
