Suggest you read the following, in sequence:
1. "Efficient discrete event simulation of spiking neurons in NEURON" (available from NEURON's Documentation page http://www.neuron.yale.edu/neuron/docs)
or chapters 10 and 11 of the NEURON book
2. "Translating network models to parallel hardware in NEURON" (available from NEURON's Documentation page http://www.neuron.yale.edu/neuron/docs)
and refer to the Programmer's Reference

whenever you run into a new keyword.
