Re: monitor the attenuation of the peak value of the action potential with distance from the ion channel
Dear Ted, I truly appreciate your timely help, I really learned a lot from your expertise reply. I've successfully built my model (one with axon implemented with hh mechanism, the other one with passive conduction). My next step is to First, construct a model with soma(hh), axon(pas). Next, apply a ...

Re: monitor the attenuation of the peak value of the action potential with distance from the ion channel
Thank you for your reply! Sorry for my unclear statements and purposes. What I'm trying to do is first I need to construct a multi-compartment HH model and then use LFPsim to measure the extracellular potential along the axon. I want to see the extracellular potential generated by the transmembrane ...

Re: monitor the attenuation of the peak value of the action potential with distance from the ion channel
I searched the ModelDB, but I didn't find suitable AP initialize mechanism(change ion concentration or voltage gradient at ion channel), maybe my searching was not enough. If anyone knows some examples that I can reference to, please tell me. Thanks in advance.

monitor the attenuation of the peak value of the action potential with distance from the ion channel
Good day, I'm implementing a simple unmyelinated axon, I want to use LFPsim method to measure the voltage potential at some different compartments. My purpose is to monitor the attenuation of the peak value of the action potential with distance from the ion channel. My question is: 1. How can I appl...

Downloading NEURON5.9
Hi, I'm trying to download the old version of NEURON5.9 in order to run a legacy model, but I'm not quite sure about which folder should I download from: https://neuron.yale.edu/ftp/neuron/versions/v5.9/ By the way, I'm using Win10 and also which version of Python should I install, Python 3.7 or Pyt...

Re: intracellular sodium ion accumulation
When browsing the forum, I noticed that combining different parts from other models to create a new model wasn't easy, so if I could modify the original code from Extracellular Action Potential Simulation: https://senselab.med.yale.edu/ModelDB/ShowModel.cshtml?model=84589#tabs-1 the attempt to creat...

reuse modelDB:84589
Hi, I'm trying to reuse the Extracellular Action Potential Simulation from: https://senselab.med.yale.edu/ModelDB/ShowModel.cshtml?model=84589#tabs-1 It was implemented in 2006, and some code didn't work right now. I also have tried to create my own model by combining different parts from the other ...

intracellular sodium ion accumulation
Hi, I'm trying to simulate the intracellular electric field gerneated by the action potential propagating along the myelinated axon with the influence of sodium ion accumulation at the Node of Ranvier. For the uniform myelinated axon and its initialization, I used the cable.hoc and init.hoc from: ht...
