Neurons in Action (NIA) is a set of tutorials on CD that allow the user to learn neurophysiology by asking "what if?" questions, specifying parameters, performing experiments, and observing graphed results. The tutorials are complemented by extensive explanatory material.
We welcome feedback from NIA users. What do you like? What do you want to have changed? What do you wish for that isn't there?
NIA, now in version 1.5, is published by Sinauer Associates. Version 2 of NIA is in development, funded by the NSF, with an expected publication date of fall 2006.
The NIA website (neuronsinaction.com) provides a location for faculty to place materials that they have developed to extend NIA. Materials on this site at present include homework problems, exam questions, and PowerPoint lectures. If you have materials you might like to share with others, please send them to the authors (stuart@med.unc.edu) for posting.
