How to add miniature current in cortical network

Post by mmushtaq »

I want to activate my cortical network by miniature current which will activate persistent sodium current . By this persistent sodium current, any network cell will reach at threshold level and will generate an action potential and by this action potential entire network cells will be activated. Would you give me some suggestions to solve this problem (How to add miniature current in network). If you give me some example reference, it would also be helpful for me. I will wait for your kind suggestions.

The easiest way might be to use IClamps to inject depolarizing current pulses into one or more of your model's cells. Or if your model has some excitatory synapses, you might drive one or more of those synapses with one event or a short burst of events produced by a NetStim. See the Programmer's Reference for documentation of IClamp, NetStim, NetCon, ExpSyn, Exp2Syn.
