tES and suprathreshold E

In transcranial electric stimulation (TES) the applied E field amplitude at the level of the targeted cortex underneath the electrode is approximately 0.5V/m. Typically not more than 2mA of current is applied at the scalp electrodes to achieve such an E field amplitude. It’s not possible to go much higher than 0.5V/m because the current applied at the electrode is mostly shunted through the scalp and above 2mA pain and excessive heating will occur. TES uses frequencies in the range of 0-100 typically.
Here’s my question: With frequencies in the TES range what E field amplitude would be needed to reach threshold? Got any references?
Thanks again!!
