Attaching a synapse changes cell response in Network Builder

I have been trying to use the network builder to connect two neurons. The model neuron oscillates spontaneously when it is dragged into the network layout field and run after toggling the create button on. Once I attach a synpase (synaptic conductance and other synaptic parameter values are zero) and the drag it into the network layout field and run it in a similar fashion, its response changes ie. a dampening higher frequency oscillation is seen which dies out and the membrane potential does not return to RMP. I wish to know why the presence of a synapse is causing this problem even when the synpase is not active and how I could go around it.

Haven't seen this happen before. Maybe you have uncovered a bug. What version of
NEURON are you using?

Try the latest alpha version--go to
http://www.neuron.yale.edu/neuron/install/install.html
then click on the link
Snapshots of alpha versions
and select the appropriate installer for your OS. Let me know if that fixes the problem.

The problem still persists with the latest alpha version too.

Zip up the hoc, ses, and mod files necessary to reproduce the problem
and send them to me
ted dot carnevale at yale dot edu
and I'll try to diagnose it and tell you how to fix it.
