About the old NEURON reference manual

Particularly useful chunks of hoc and/or NMODL code. May be pedestrian or stunningly brilliant, may make you gasp or bring tears to your eyes, but always makes you think "I wish I had written that; I'm sure going to steal it."

About the old NEURON reference manual

Post by figoyouwei »

Dear,

I came across a function called "fstim()", it works quite handy, it helps to see the doc string though.

The current document refers to it as:
Consider this obsolete. Nevertheless, it does work. See the old NEURON reference manual.

So just a general question, where can we see this "old NEURON reference manual" ?

thanks.

It doesn't have a doc string, isn't going to get one, and there's not guarantee that it will work in future releases of NEURON. "Obsolete" means "don't use it in developing new code."

That refers to the old version of the Programmer's Reference, sometimes also called "legacy help files." Go to
http://www.neuron.yale.edu/neuron/
and click on
Programmer's Reference
and look for
"legacy help files"
