A postdoctoral position is available for working in an NIH BRAIN initiative funded project on the role of the basal ganglia in motor decision making in behaving mice. The project aims to elucidate how subcortical structures feed back onto and influence cortical processing. The open position with a start date of Sept. 1, 2019 will involve biophysically detailed modeling of basal ganglia – thalamo-cortical interactions in the Jaeger lab at Emory University in Atlanta An ongoing interaction with experimentalists is an important component of the project. Emory University presents a strong training environment in computational and systems neuroscience (e.g. and ... ience.html ). The successful candidate needs previous computational modeling experience using the NEURON software and a strong background in the biophysics of neurons. Pay is according to the posted NIH NRSA schedule ... 9-036.html. If interested & qualified, please contact djaeger AT emory.
