POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN COMPUTATIONAL NEUROSCIENCE

A position is available at the Department of Neurobiology at Yale to develop computational models in association with experimental analysis of olfactory bulb circuits. This investigator will work closely with Gordon Shepherd and David Willhite on the experimental data analysis and with Michael Hines (Computer Science Dept, Yale University) and Michele Migliore (Institute of Biophysics, Nat. Res. Council, Palermo, Italy) on the computational simulations. The work will be aimed at scaled-up realistic network models run on state-of-the-art parallel supercomputer systems. There will be opportunities for collaboration in Italy and in other leading computational neuroscience centers. The position is funded by the SenseLab project (senselab.med.yale.edu).

The ideal candidate will have a PhD in computational neuroscience and experience in biophysically-detailed neuronal modeling using the NEURON simulator. The position will be available from July 1, 2009. Please send CV and arrange for three letters of reference to be sent to:
