Pink Noise

Post by einsinghaf »

Hi there
Thank you everybody, especially Ted for your previous helps.
I need to add a pink noise to synapse how should I start to do that?
Thank you in advance.

1. What exactly do you mean by "pink noise"? That term has a very specific definition (1/f noise), but like all technical terms, it is often used loosely. What algorithm do you propose to use to approximate pink noise? Several different approaches have been proposed, but all are approximations and each has its own limitations.

2. What do you mean by "add noise to synapse"? Do you simply want to add a noisy current with a stationary ("constant") power spectral density to the total membrane current? Or do you want to incorporate stochasticity into the synaptic mechanism itself, e.g. by making the synaptic conductance fluctuate with time?
