Technology has given us the option now to use 3D printers quite easily. I was wondering if anyone has developed a hoc code that can translate models with 3D detailed morphological data for single neurons (e.g. from .swc files) to generate files compatible with those 3D printers? This will enable us to get 3D prototypes for our reconstructed neurons.
I don't know much about these 3D printers, but I know that they print 3D objects from files that describe the outer surface of these objects in terms of little triangles connected to each other.
