Hi I wanted to know the basis of the values chosen for the default passive mechanism in NEURON ? (g= 0.001 (S/cm2), e=-70 (mV)). So, in my previous message instead of LOCAL, I was using RANGE. ( Sorry about that !) I figured out that I had accidentally changed the coefficient of alpha for the 'm' system from 0.1 to 0.12 and (maybe) that had led to these abnormal results. Changing it back to the original value of 0.1 corrected...

Thanks for the reply. So I had made some changes to the original "hh.mod" to account for spatial temperature distribution. (by changing GLOBAL celcius to LOCAL localtemp). However, it did run successfully until yesterday. Changing the mechanism from the modified hh to original hh solves the stimulat...

I was able to plot them by changing the variables from GLOBAL to RANGE variables.

How can I plot variables mtau and minf when working with NEURON using Python ? I use sec._ref_v and sec._ref_mtau_hh and both of them produce hoc error.

Thanks for the reply. If you please look closely, the traces at node 5 and nodes 9,10, you see that the maximum voltage is not equal to that of the neighboring nodes. Also, some of the nodes at the terminals (towards the end) are not equal to the other nodes( 1,2,3,4,6,7 etc). That's what I meant by...

Time dependent RANGE variable

Hi I want to use section temperature as a RANGE variable in a modified version of the standard HH model. I have figured this out. However I want the temperature to vary with time in a way I can import from a csv/txt file containing temperature and time. Is is possible using NEURON with Python? Mohit
