use self events in the NET_RECEIVE block

Hi, Ted, As you suggested, in our synaptic mechanism mod file, I'm going to replace the conditional statements at the start of the DERIVATIVE block(please see the codes below) by the use of self events in the NET_RECEIVE block. NEURON { POINT_PROCESS pyrD2pyrD_STFD USEION ca READ eca NONSPECIFIC_CUR...

Re: Errors from Vecstim()

Hi, Ted,

I just tried the old version of vecevent.mod, it gave me the same error when 21% of the simulation is done.

Re: Errors from Vecstim()

Hi, Ted, I run the simulation by using our university's multi-core compute servers, not running on my office PC, so I'm a little confused by what to check. I checked my office PC, in nrn/share/examples/nrniv/netcon, and it didn't give me error information and showed a spike raster in Spikeplot. But ...

Re: Errors from Vecstim()

I don't have the serial implementation of the program. Does one exist, and is it known to produce the same results as the parallel implementation does (when fed a data set that doesn't break the parallel implementation, that is). Hi, Ted, I just tried on one processor, with the same data set that g...

Re: Errors from Vecstim()

Hi, Ted,

I don't have the serial implementation of the program. But I will try to run it on single processor to see how it works.

Re: Errors from Vecstim()

First, an important question: does your program execute properly when executed serially, that is, on a single processor and not under mpiexec? Hi, Ted, Thanks for you time and reply. Yes, my program is under mpiexec. I didn't try the program on a single processor. One reason is, the program works f...

Errors from Vecstim()

Dear all, I've been stuck by this issue for at least two days. I got the following error message from my network model, when I used VecStim() to drive the synaptic event. 40.000000 percent is done! 40.000000 percent is done! 40.000000 percent is done! net_send td-t = -2.91038e-11 SelfEvent target=Ve...

Re: Changing parameter values doesn't work

I don't have any problems changing any of nap's parameters via the nrnsecmenu panel. Have you verified what you're doing in a model that has only one cell, where that cell has only one segment? Make whatever changes you like with the parameter panel, then execute psection() and see if the parameter...

Changing parameter values doesn't work

Hi, I have some problems in my single-cell model codes. In order to make my tuning easily, I use nrnsecmenu to pull up all the range variables to GUI interface. But among all the variables, changing two of them doesn't work, i.e. it didn't affect the outcome at all; the results always stay exactly t...

Re: Misalignment of Spike data

Thanks, Ted.
So basically, it's a shared system, only one shared file, no # of nhost files. Am I correct?

Re: Misalignment of Spike data

Hi, Ted, Thanks for your reply. It is clear to me now. About this code, I have another question. Before we append spiking infomation to the "data" file, we actually used savet.wopen("data") to create a file on each node, since we didn't specify pc.id when creating, which means that there would be #n...

Re: Misalignment of Spike data

Hi, Ted,

I'm confused by this saving procedure. Because it's a paralleled code, what will happen if two nodes trying to write the spiking time into the data file at the same time? Or this case would never happen?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Question about initialization in Bartos' 2002 network mo

Sorry, Ted, to mislead you. What I mean by "got different results", is I got the same results with what you showed, i.e. -70mV, -100mV, and -100mV respectively.
