Re: Recording range variable in Vector

Ok I just ran it again and I also got non-zero, but constant values for htau and mtau this time (0.27... and 0.04... respectively). The values only become zero when I run it repeatedly from ipython in the same session. Setting h.usetable_na3 = 0 like you suggested also fixes it. So it looks like it ...

Recording range variable in Vector

Hi, I'm having a problem recording a range variable into a Vector. Specifically, I'm using the Mainen et al. 1995 spike initiation model ( http://senselab.med.yale.edu/modeldb/ShowModel.asp?model=8210 ) and want to look at the different state variables, for example of the sodium channels. Just to de...

Re: VecStim() errors

I don't know if you're still having the problem, but I'm just answering here because I saw another recent post with a segfault/bus error using VecStim (see http://www.neuron.yale.edu/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2294 ). This has come up before, but in the Python section of the forum, maybe that's why i...

Re: Driving synaptic event using vecStim

That explains it. I was just confused in the beginning, but suspected something along this line. Thanks for the in-depth explanation!
Will try out your suggestions out when I get around to it soon hopefully.

Re: Driving synaptic event using vecStim

Thanks, that's what I did too. I guess my question is more that it seems a little unintuitive - you register the Vector with the VecStim using the play() method, and after that you still have to worry about the lifetime of the Vector. Naively, I guess I was expecting the play() method to copy the va...

Re: Driving synaptic event using vecStim

I know this is an older post, but I've run across the same error message. I found a way around it, just trying to understand now what's going on since I'm only beginning using NEURON... I'm creating a bunch of VecStim events and store them in a python list. To set them with spike times, I iterate ov...
