Re: questions regarding myelinated axon
i have understood about those things from the paper. i want to make a cell with myelinated axon.i tried to include it by doing some changes but i cnt figure out much. how should i include this into a cell. i tried this. i have not made many changes i just added morphology of soma and connected MYSA[...

questions regarding myelinated axon
dear ted, i was studying about myelinated axon from mclntyre(2002) and couldnt understand some things- Ra=rhoa*(1/(paraD1/fiberD)^2)/10000 cm=2*paraD1/fiberD insert pas g_pas=0.001*paraD1/fiberD e_pas=v_init insert extracellular xraxial=Rpn1 xg=mygm/(nl*2) xc=mycm/(nl*2) how have these terms been ca...

Re: graphs in extracelllular stimulation
dear ted, i wanted to make a dsic electrode so that i can vary its dimensions so that i can vary its dimensions and see the effects. i hope that is feasible.... in the code which you earlier send me asking these paprameters given the orientation of the electrode's axis, calculate angular orientation...

Re: graphs in extracelllular stimulation
i wanted to create a disc electrode because i have to compare my results with experimental results and practically i cant assume elctrode to be a point electrode. Is there any way i could create an electrode with dimensions and vary its dimensions( which, for the disc i thought to be radius) to see ...

Re: graphs in extracelllular stimulation
how is this for a start ....i made changes in calcrxc.hoc. I is the stimulating current emitted by the elctrode. The analytical fromula of the current through electorde has been derived from simple current electricity equations of electric field for a disc and relation between current density and el...

Re: graphs in extracelllular stimulation
i got an expression of current using a charge density sigma, resistivity rho, diameter and distance of electrode from center of soma. should i put this current equal to is_xtra as the current from the expression equals to stimulating current produced by the electrode????????? in case of point electr...

Re: graphs in extracelllular stimulation
sorry my mistake , milliseconds . is it ok for axon and soma to have same threshold current value ??? i mentioned this earlier too... could i do this way: To make a disc electrode i thought that i should start with a point and take a current density sigma. taking the point, i can assume a disc of ra...

Re: graphs in extracelllular stimulation
dear ted,
my axon has the same value of threshold current but it shows a spike 6 to 7 seconds after the spike of soma. is this okey?
and for making a disc electrode do i need morphometric data of the neuron or a three dimensional model of the neuron??

Re: graphs in extracelllular stimulation
dear ted, the values of conductances of the ion channels which are already present in the cell builder, are they the default values of the conductance??? if i use those values do i have to mention any reference ... if yes then what...in every paper i get the value of conductance of na,k and leakage ...

Re: graphs in extracelllular stimulation
dear ted, if i have a the value of area of the dendritic field . Is it okey if i draw a circular section of area equal to dendritic field area connected to the soma at one side?????? or a circular segment equal the area of soma plus dendritic field area??. I could consider the all the dendrites are ...
