A very simple Voltage-clamp experiment
Dear forum members, I am trying to study the effect of the series resistance on time course of synaptic currents. For that, I first created a very simplified model of a soma and an "alpha synapse" attached to it . To perform the measurements, I would like to voltage-clamp the soma at -70mV...

Re: UNITSON and UNITSOFF to remove inconsistency?
I totally agree with you, Exp2Syn is what I needed. In any case, I wanted to get familiar with NMODL language, and this was a very good opportunity.
Thanks a lot for your patient and care!
Best.

Re: UNITSON and UNITSOFF to remove inconsistency?
Thanks a lot for your fantastic advices! This is my first mod and It would have took me ages to get to that! Now I am ready to start the simulations. The real mechanism would look like this (just if somebody wants to use it): :synapse.mod TITLE Synaptic conductances of CA3 neurons COMMENT synaptic c...

UNITSON and UNITSOFF to remove inconsistency?
Hi everybody, I am just adding a new mechanism to model a synapse by the product of 2 exponential functions, as follows (very simplified): NEURON { POINT_PROCESS syn RANGE gmax, tau0, tau1, e_rev, i NONSPECIFIC_CURRENT i } UNITS { (nA) = (nanoamp) (mV) = (millivolt) (uS) = (micromho) } PARAMETER { t...

Dear Ted, thank you very much for your wisdom advices (and specially for the model-specific comments). The problem was solved changing just the temperature (and I changed V_init as well). I've just started with Neuron, and I need to become more familiar with it (I own the book, by the way). Actually...

single spiking soma.
Hi everybody, I am just staring with Neuron. I tried to create a soma with hh conductances. When I insert everything in the console, the model runs properly (i.e. I see the action potentials). However, when I load directly the .hoc file, I only see an step in voltage in response to a current step. /...

To compile you need not only the compiler, but also the corresponding libraries. I would try to install the following libraries (in bold the debian name package). For gcc libc6 - GNU C Library: Shared libraries libc6-dev - GNU C Library: Development Libraries and Header Files checking for tgetent in...

I changed the location, so it's easier to find:
Here the Neuron 5.9 in .deb format ( 4.2 MB)
http://neurohost.org/index.php/Downloads
I hope it works!
Regards!

Problem with JAVA
First of all, let me introduce myself. I am an experimentalist just starting with Neuron (fantastic feature!), and this is my first post here. After installing the last version of Neuron in my Debian machine, and running nrngui, I found the following problem: NEURON -- Release 5.9.10 (1601) 2006-11-...

I wanted to use the last version of Neuron in Debian, so I transformed the *rpm package into a *deb, and it worked fine for me.
