This is a year for milestones. For the first time ever, there will be a NEURON Summer Course on two continents: one at University of California, San Diego, from June 23-27 (see http://www.neuron.yale.edu/neuron/static/courses/nscsd2012/nscsd2012.html), and another at Institute of Science and Technology in Klosterneuburg, Austria, from August 20-24 (see http://www.ist.ac.at/NeuronCourse2012/).
This is also the first NEURON course in Europe. Many thanks to Peter Jonas, Jose Guzman, and our other colleagues at IST Austria for inviting us and organizing this event!
We are delighted to have these opportunities to meet fellow experimental and computational neuroscientists, teach them about the latest advances in NEURON and how to use it productively in their work, and hear what they have been doing and how they plan to apply computational modeling in their research and teaching. The importance of what we learn from these interactions cannot be overstated, because user feedback is absolutely essential in guiding the development of NEURON and ensuring that it is widely useful in the laboratory and the classroom.
