Any number of connections between pre and post mechanisms are established by calling the postsynaptic "setlink" function with arguments that identify the presynaptic mechanism along with a delay and synaptic strength. When a spike occurs at a presynaptic location, all postsynaptic connections are notified at the proper time. Note that one presynaptic instance can notify many different numbers and types of postsynaptic mechanisms and each postsynaptic instance can receive notifications from many different kinds of presynaptic models. Jaslove November 8, 1992 The Laboratory of Biophysics, The Rockefeller University, NY, NY 10021 This is a library of physiological mechanisms (.mod files) and HOC simulation programs (.hoc files) for use with the NEURON simulation system. The HOC files include both programmer's tools and demonstrations. The .mod files include a variety of membrane channels, pumps, exchangers, ion accumulation processes, and synaptic mechanisms. neurolucida2nrn.Z Filter that takes a cell.asc Neurolucida file as input and generates a cell.nrn file as output. This neuron file defines the compartments, morphologies and connectivities of the cell arborization. Author: Adam Strassberg EMAIL: strass@cns.caltech.edu neuron.el Major mode for .hoc files for GNU emacs, including automatic indentation (if you want it) and an interface to the neuron program. Neuron itself runs from a shell window, and hoc files can be sent to it by simply typing C-c C-c in the hoc buffer. Also includes a rudimentary .mod file editing major mode. Works for emacs version 19; probably still works for version 18. Not tested with Lemacs. Written by Gary Holt (holt@klab.caltech.edu) 16-Mar-1993 ntscable.tar.Z JC Wathey et al. Computational Neurobiology Laboratory Salk Institute San Diego, CA This program translates a digitized morphological description of a neuron into files which can be used directly by NEURON. Reads data files in the syntax of the Neuron Tracing System (Eutectic Electronics) as well as the systems of Rodney Douglas and Rocky Nevin
